BACK TO BASICS has the perfect combination for every cocktail- easy to prepare, sexy and vibrant color and fresh sweet and sour flavor. The acidity and fruity flavor of the light red wine combine perfectly with the Bacardi rum that adds coconut and lime notes. The orange is a perfect addition for a fruity and citrusy drink that balance well with the Bacardi rum and the wine.
60 ml white rum Bacardi Carta blanca
30 ml orange and red wine syrup
22.5 ml lime
10 ml of dry vermouth
15 ml aquafaba
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Shake with ice and double strain into a coupe
Garnish with orange peel
Syrup (0.5 liter)
300 g sugar
330 ml red wine (merlot)
Cut one orange to small cubes and add half a peel from the second orange. Mix it together with the sugar and let it soak between 15 minutes to 1.5 hour.
Cook the oranges, sugar and wine together until the alcohol evaporates (keep the temperature around 80°c that the sugar will not caramelize)
